Inveraray
Argyll & Bute
MBLA have developed the landscape approach to a masterplan for the settlement of Inveraray
Matt worked with Richard Heggie at Urban Animation to develop proposals for the town's expansion into the designed landscape at Inveraray Castle
Matts input included a study of the development of the Inveraray Castle designed landscape from the early 18th Century to date. In particular I focussed on the surviving features of the designed landscape including the ha-ha, Fisherland roundels, the Town or Beech Avenue and the Bealachanuaran springhead corridor which terminates on a B-Listed folly built in 1747 attributed to William Adam
The masterplan prepared on behalf of Argyll Estates proposes significant new development over a long period which responds to the historic 18th Century planned town. The residential development is located within an area of the policies known as Fisherland and includes commercial, business, leisure and recreation uses
The first phase of 12 affordable homes was completed in 2016
