MBLA have prepared proposals for a rural car park and wider path network, vegetation management and planting within Dal an Duie field at Glenbarr.

The design proposals sensitively respond to the sites rural setting within the historic and designed landscape at Glenbarr Abbey.  The proposals provide much needed car parking and connect with existing and proposed walks and features within the designed landscape including a Doocot and woodlands.

A combination of dry stone walls, bunds hedgerows, tree and woodland planting has been incorporated to integrate the car park.  The access road and parking bays are surfaced in plastic cells infilled with locally sourced aggregated or grass seeded to provide a sensitive and permeable solution.

Matt has responded to proposals outlined by the Woodland Working Group and presented emerging and finalised proposals to the Glenbarr Community Development Association.

MBLA have been supported by David Nicol, engineer at Nicol Urban Design and Armour Construction Consultants, who are providing cost consultancy services.

Planning submitted in 2025.
