Treverlen Park

Portobello, Edinburgh

MBLA provided landscape architecture services to Holmes Miller architects for a new public park in Edinburgh on the site of the former Portobello High School.

Holmes Miller developed proposals for the park following community consultation which confirmed the communities requirements for active play set within a natural park design.

The park design consists of open space augmented by two tree roundels. The roundels have clearings within which active play is accommodated.

The roundels are dissected by paths which connect existing entrances on Duddingston Road, Hamilton Terrace and Drive.

The formal and informal play includes free climbing boulders, a wheels area and landforms.
